797232 2009-08-02 02:13:00 Shakes my faith in consumer.

They should have rounded up a 1000 pc's at use in the real world already running an AV and having been used for general family use for at least a year, tested them for viruses, performance and stability.

Nod32 should have been used as the benchmark for commercial products, and Avast as the benchmark for free products.

Which ones did they test apart from these two?
No, wait, they just tested these 2 right?
And on clean PCs.

797236 2009-08-02 07:35:00 Actually apparently the *latest* Nortons has improved quite a lot. I wanna give it a try on a VM or something one day and try and break it :D Chilling_Silence (9)

I've tried it.

They boast about how light it is, and I do agree with them but light is what it should've been before!

Its detection rate is (still) crap.

797238 2009-08-02 08:10:00 "Good' for Nortons is not actually killing the user.
Like Lucas, it immeasurably improves any environment by it's absence.

And remember, Consumer rated a Thorn as NZ's best TV. (It wasn't, it certainly averaged out as the least cherished.)
