798544 2009-08-06 01:04:00 Gee, if Macbooks can't stand normal use and my netbook only has scratches, even when someone sat on it (:D), something's wrong. pcuser42 (130)
798545 2009-08-06 01:59:00 That ain't a fault, it's a feature bob_doe_nz (92)
798546 2009-08-06 02:52:00 "First it was the issue with an incorrect amount of thermal paste applied to the CPUs, which resulted in the Macbooks overheating. Then an issue occurred with the palm rests and other areas of the laptop becoming discoloured, or in the case of the black Macbooks, the paint wearing off."

Paint?????

798547 2009-08-06 22:38:00 I owned a Macbook for a year for Media Studies at college and I had the same problem. I kept it in prestine condition and 10 months into using it, I noticed that the same crack appearing on the macbook.

The great thing was that it on warranty and there was an apple repair store close by. The people were friendly and repaired it for free (since I was on warranty). The Macbook went to someone else after that.

I stopped using Mac and went back to Windows. Glad to back on Windows now!!

798549 2009-08-07 00:04:00 hells bells, They are even making me appreciate my HP/vista laptop, How bizarre is that? Metla (12)
798550 2009-08-08 00:49:00 The only thing more bizarre would be if the appreciation outlasted the hangover inevitably following the occasion that occasioned it ;)
(If nothing that could causes a hangover was involved, that has to be the ultimate bizarre event of the decade. )
It goes to show the awesome power of Appples.
