Time to try and sync with my Win7 PC, bite the bullet and migrate my iTunes etc, then grab the latest IPCC file (unofficial): www.geekzone.co.nz www.unlockit.co.nz |

2009-08-06 04:37:00 | www.2degreesmobile.co.nz shows the roaming charges. It's 80c per text. www.2degreesmobile.co.nz shows the 21 countries. I'm going to try a 2° SIM and see what the coverage is like. I had no Vodafone coverage when I moved into my current house so I switched to Telecom. Vodafone has subsequently done some more network buildout so it may be usable now. Well, I gave it a go and it's still unusably bad in Hillcrest, Whakatane. Looks like I'll be staying with XT.

2009-08-07 22:26:00 | Im pretty gutted, no matter how hard I try, because they don't have any bulk-SMS or preferred-calling-number plans I'm kinda stuck with Vodafone :-/ Whilst I'd love to ditch Vodafone, looks like I'm stuck on the iPhone 60 for now.. It just really sucks coz as I go over the SMS limit of the plan (They won't let me add on any more SMS bundles), it really becomes quite expensive quite quickly! :(

2009-08-07 22:42:00 | Vodafone's plans for the iPhone suck big time - which is why I bought my iPhone outright and why it is now on an open plan with Telecom. Whichever way I looked at it the subsidy I would have got buy buying the phone on a VF plan would not have been worth it in the end - and I would have been stuck on a two year contract in a mobile market where the prices are going to head downwards. As far as I can see, it's not even possible to get an open plan with Vodafone - they like to tie people up with contracts by the look.

2009-08-08 00:26:00 | Alas, that doesn't work on a laptop. I'm at work using a laptop (With a Vodem) so luxuries like number keys are only for others. Does that preclude me getting onto 2 degrees ? ;) When my meager few dollars credit on prepay with Vodafume has been converted to an even more meager trickle of minutes, I must give some thought to the new horse in the race.
