798551 2009-08-08 04:36:00 I had the same problem with my white ipod earphones. The rubber parts just end up spliting and fallin aprt within a year. They call it 'normal wear and tear' but I take very good care of them, and I don't just chuck them around. Other brands don't have that problem. It is just cheap chinese manufacturing and plastics they use. robbyp (2751)

Earphones do wear out, even my $130 Sennheisers wore out after 18 months and I take very good care of all of my gear. :)

China only made to Apple's specifications. If China did not meet their specs, you think Apple is so 'STUPID' to accept it???????????

It is just too easy to blame China.

798555 2009-08-08 12:22:00 In tests 18,000 Apples claptripes were destroyed. No computers were harmed in making those tests :) R2x1 (4628)
798556 2009-08-08 21:47:00 My 2006 white Mac notebook, used 24/7, is still in perfect condition.
So is my 15" June 2008 MacBook Pro.
I don't chuck them around in a school bag as do most owners of white MacBooks.

Mind you, I never install microsoft software and there is no MS partition to collect viruses and related malware either.

798557 2009-08-09 06:51:00 Funny Sue, my MS software isn't causing my laptop to crack open and I chuck it around in a school bag all the time and take it overseas too. beeswax34 (63)
