| 798104 | 2009-08-05 10:01:00 | Only if the Ubuntu team does a credible job of integrating it properly - their track record with KDE is nothing short of shocking. I would agree with that. I have heard KDE 4.3 is a real step in the right direction and if I had a better PC would compile it myself as it will probably be a little while before it is in the PCLinuxOS repositories. |

| 798108 | 2009-08-05 10:56:00 | I once compiled KDE from a bunch of bits, but making it outa scratches would be a novel build ;) It was a very early and small KDE, I was a lot more patient and enthusiastic in those days. I have tried Kubuntu occasionally, but it tried me more than I am willing to endure. And any gnomes will get just as short a shrift on the desktop as they get in the garden (Bargnomes excluded). |
