798602 2009-08-06 00:43:00 Hi all

Ok with 2° starting up i wanted to get my old cellphone working for the wife,
It kept asking me for a code and i entered what i thought was the correct code, after 3 attempts it locked the sim card (sim cards expired so no prob), but it is now asking me for a PUK code, err how do I get this as i don't even remember the old phone number of the phone. and i'm guessing Vodafone won't help as i want to use the phone on a different network

Or alternately if someone has a better phone they want to give away free, i'd be more than happy to take it off your hands, as my current phone (c200 motorola) is worse than my old phone as it doesn't even handle leap years, I kid you not

798603 2009-08-06 01:02:00 The PUK code may be on the surrounding of the SIM card (at least that's where Telecom put them). pcuser42 (130)
798604 2009-08-06 01:26:00 So the PUK code is to do with the simcard and not the phone?

so if i take the simcard out and replace it with a new one it should all be fine

798605 2009-08-06 02:46:00 I don't know, I've never had to use it. pcuser42 (130)

Yes. YPUK code is for the simcard.

However changing the simcard will probably still need you to guess the code for the phone.

798607 2009-08-06 08:33:00 I resurrected an old Nokia (3315 I think) a while back which needed the PUK code. After a lot of net searching I found a sequence to key in which caused the phone to display the PUK and I was in business. Battery was pretty stuffed tho'.
Or bite the bullet and get a new Nokia 1202 from 2° for $79.

798608 2009-08-06 08:43:00 My dad still has a Nokia 5110. I have a 6230 I think. :D

Remember the Telecom version 5120 and it has the Super 12 faceplates

798609 2009-08-06 10:01:00 I think you have to call Vodafone and get the PUK code.. That method could have changed beeswax34 (63)
