882178 2010-05-04 03:00:00 My little brother deleted something from system32 please help!

computer boots into system recovery but when i go into command prompt X:\windows\systum32 bootrec /scanos it tells me total identified windows installations: 0. Cant boot my desktop :confused:

882181 2010-05-04 03:23:00 Press F8 then last known good config. See what happens. If that doesnt work press F8 then safe mode / command prompt. If this works, type rstrui.exe. See what happens. If this works, go back a few days

If that doesnt work, you may have to reformat

If the System is badly corrupted a Repair install may fix it.
Failing that a Format and reinstall may be needed.

under recovery it says operating system: windows 7 on (D:) local disk (d is a partition of my hard drive but windows is on C? confused :badpc:

882185 2010-05-04 03:56:00 If the system32 folder has been deleted, the only way youre going to get it back, is if you remove the hdd, put it in a working system (with XP on it, then copy the system32 folder to it). Otherwise, I would say you'll have to reformat. And then password protect it. So noone can log into it Speedy Gonzales (78)
