799751 2009-08-09 11:25:00 I just read Willy DeVille passed on. I remember when Spansih Stroll came out thinking it was a really cool sound Just listening to a few Mink Deville classics this evening, great vocals and oh so laid back. One of those great artists who made the late seventies one of the best times for music. Twelvevolts (5457)

I remember a deVille car was a model of a vehicle. It may have been a Holden.

799755 2009-08-09 12:43:00 The Statesman de Ville. I recall it, there were a few other marques had de Ville models while the fad lasted; perhaps it referred to cars that handled and accelerated like a house. R2x1 (4628)

799759 2009-08-10 10:39:00 Bad news about Willie, not too fussed about the tin-tops though Whenu (9358)
799760 2009-08-10 21:45:00 According to the beeb, he was a "Pioneer of Punk" but his music was more melodic than most punk music at the time Whenu (9358)
