881673 2010-05-02 11:42:00 Will that work without usb 2.0 on the laptop thou?

Don't quote me on that but can someone else confirm that?
If it would work that would be grand b/c USB 1.0 should be decent enough for most internet usage.

881674 2010-05-02 11:46:00 For those in the know how:
Would a switch work? Connected to the router to provide more jacks?

Should, all you do is, connect the ethernet from the modem to it. Then connect the ethernet from the laptop to the switch.

It may work, but it may not be fast enough for wireless

If OP don't want to spend more bucks, maybe a USB cable would do as a cable solution. That's if USB1.1 works peer to peer.
