| 882141 | 2010-05-04 01:13:00 | I'm trying to add an entry to block an ad site in my Hosts file. The error message I get is: Access to C\Windows\System32\Drivers\Etc\Hosts was denied How come, and how can I get around this? Windows Vista Home Premium. Never had this problem in XP. |

| 882142 | 2010-05-04 01:15:00 | Kill UAC. Its one cause of access denied errors | Speedy Gonzales (78) | ||
| 882143 | 2010-05-04 01:15:00 | Try running notepad as administrator. If that doesn't work try using malwarebytes' file delete utility to remove it, reboot and windows will re-create it, hopefully that will change the permissions. | wratterus (105) | ||
| 882144 | 2010-05-04 01:18:00 | Thanks. Speedy, please remind me how to kill UAC? Pretty sure I did it before. Wratterus, yeah all my apps i run are as administrator. {edit} Speedy - I figured it out, thx. |
