882073 2010-05-03 08:56:00 My mate has a legal copy of Windows 7 Enterprise installed on his laptop and needs to reinstall it. How would I go about legally reinstalling it? nedkelly (9059)
882074 2010-05-03 09:00:00 No disc? what about a restore partition, google the model number to see what to press to find it. Might be a call to MS on the 0800 number if it doesn't pass validation though gary67 (56)
882075 2010-05-03 09:08:00 Assuming there is a restore partition on the hard drive.......during boot up, you will need to press one of the F keys, if it is a Toshiba, F2 or holding down ESC might get you into a menu where you might be offered something along the lines of Restore to Factory Settings. This would be I would guess what you will need. It should from there install all the drivers and probably all the must try freebie's such as Nortons........

Remember of course to back up any important files first.

As Gary67 mentioned, you may need to google the brand and model to find the correct F key to get into the Restore Partition.

A good reason once the system has been reloaded and is running just the way you like it to create a image on a portable drive which you can restore from anytime.

So, he took the disc with him when he moved away or you still have the disc.

If you have the disc, should be a simple case of putting the disc into the CD tray, rebooting and assuming the bios is set to boot from CD, then follow the prompts.

If he took the disc with him.......

@Radium: Yeah thanks, but he does not want vista on it any more, which is why he got 7 installed.
