| 883659 | 2010-05-10 21:15:00 | I'm in SeniorNet help mode again. One of the members called me last night to say she had lost all internet connectivity, and the power light on her Dynalink (I think) modem was flashing red. My guess would be that that means the modem is either rooted or nearly so - can anyone confirm? | Tony (4941) | ||

| 883661 | 2010-05-10 21:32:00 | Depends what the model is. If its the RTA1320, it looks like the flashing red power LED means its updating the firmware. Which maybe why, it disconnected. Hopefully he/she didnt turn it off | Speedy Gonzales (78) | ||

Hopefully he/she didnt turn it offI've a nasty feeling she might have. If she has, what are her options? NedKelly - She seemed pretty sure it was the power light, and it was blinking not solid. |

| 883664 | 2010-05-10 21:51:00 | Yeah I would be inclined to replace it. Try this: Pull the power from the back, give it a few seconds Replace the power cable, make sure the power button is pressed in, and wait for 30 seconds Are there any other lights on it that have flashed at all, and what lights are on or blinking now? The lights on the RTA1320 flashes during boot up, and it's red. When it's powered on properly, it goes a solid green. Hope this helps :) |

Just set a dynalink up as a temp measure until I could get a better brand for a customer last week - and it did exactly that - wasn't till the ADSL had actually connected and was working - then it changed from red to green. | wainuitech (129) | ||

| 883667 | 2010-05-10 22:32:00 | If the power light is red continuously the modem has failed, the RTA1320 has a history of failing this way. The light should only be red for less then a minute after startup. |

I've spoken to her again, and she thinks it is an RTA1320. She has a technician coming to see her this arvo, so no doubt I'll get some feedback later. |
