| 883337 | 2010-05-09 01:42:00 | The 17" LCDs that Dick-Smith sell (or sold) are made by Proview I've got a faulty one here, the PSU is stuck inside a small metal box with rubbish ventilation and uses Fuhjyyu capacitors which are NOT suited to that sort of treatment (to put it nicely) Also, 3/4 of the CCFLs appear to have died (light up red instead of white) Even if the backlights didn't die, the PSU is still bad quality\design. If their other monitors are like that I wouldn't want to recommend them either. |

| 883338 | 2010-05-09 02:11:00 | Proview have always been budget quality, their CRTs were to be avoided, as were KTX, I wonder what happened to them ? Use Google to read up on reviews for monitors, like this one: www.newegg.com |

| 883339 | 2010-05-09 02:39:00 | The monitor I got (which was a 19' LCD, not CRT) was from DSE, was sold as a DSE brand. It didnt have anything on it saying Proview. After, what a yr or so. it wouldnt turn on (it would if you pressed the button like 10 times). Rang DSE to see if they could fix it, they had no parts. So, it went in the bin. It wasnt until I pulled it to bits, that I found that it was a Proview. If I would have know this before I brought it, I wouldnt have got it in the first place. If it was budget at 499 I think it was, I would hate to see expensive  |

After, what a yr or so . it wouldnt turn on I bet the only reason it didn't work was crappy Fuhjyyu capacitors in the PSU . Replace those, it would most likely have worked perfectly . |
