803129 2009-08-21 04:32:00 2001: A Space Odyssey was a terrible movie.

And by the Matrix I suppose they mean the Trilogy?

I would bump 3 - 8 up one place and make District 9 number 8 on that list. :D

803131 2009-08-21 04:39:00 That wasn't bad actually. As Sci-Fi movies go, it would have to knock ET off it's perch surely? wratterus (105)
803132 2009-08-21 04:40:00 The Matrix referred to is simply the first one in the trilogy. The others were mostly slated as inferior films. I found the last one quite boring.

Although it is a little early to put in District 9, the reviews are favourable and I'm looking forward to seeing it next week.

2001 is not to everyones taste but it is a classic, with some memorable lines from the computer Hal.

803133 2009-08-21 04:41:00 I don't suppose you were around (Wratterus) when 2001: A Space Odyssey first came out but it was a leader in its time for SCI Fi movies especially the space station scene of it floating around the earth to the music of the Blue Danube. I know watching it today after watching a Star Wars film it seems a bit dated. Shut the pod bay doors Hal.

803134 2009-08-21 04:48:00 Agree -with that list (seen them all) with the proviso that the Blade Runner version should be the "Director's Cut" version... johcar (6283)

:D

Perhaps - but try and forget it if you can.
The images stay in peoples minds for years. Surely the sign of a great movie.
I'm still trying to understand it.
