802431 2009-08-19 07:18:00 My DVD player (Cyrus Discmaster8.0) will play a range of AV files including .avi. I burned a movie in .avi format to a DVDR and didn't finalise because there was a second movie I wanted to add. Movie1 is there and plays but having now added Movie2 my DVD player doesn't find/recognize or play the second one. My Burner/player recognizes and plays both.
Any ideas about solving the problem/mystery?

802432 2009-08-20 19:01:00 I thought this would get a simple answer from the title: "Burning DVDs - a problem/mystery" and was going to be easily solved by telling you to not play with fire.

Did you re-author the movies or are they complete. I think that matters a lot.

802433 2009-08-20 21:05:00 I did nothing to the files. They are just as I d/loaded them.

Unless your player can read multisession discs you are stuck with it only seeing the 1st one. You'll have to redo the disc with all the content. With the right software you can do it with menus, chapters etc.

802435 2009-08-20 23:17:00 Yes I agree with PaulD unless you have a menu with chapters etc the player won't know that the other movie is there. Nero will allow you to do that.

802436 2009-08-21 01:31:00 It sounds very much like a multisession problem. You need to close the sessions if you want to be able to see both of them at once (or just re-burn) Agent_24 (57)

I don't think closing will help. A standalone player will still just see the 1st session.

802438 2009-08-21 07:45:00 Thanks guys. I think I understand what you are saying.
Is there a specific Nero programme that will allow me to add files to an already partially burned disc?
The alternative being that I burn onto a disc in a single session.

I mean close/finalize the whole disc. Then you should be able to see all the sessions

802440 2009-08-21 09:25:00 I'll try finalising. I don't know if there's a quick way of doing it so I'll just burn something small.
