802660 2009-08-23 10:15:00 Actually, I believe that being a Judge in this country invariably means she or he has made the law.
Same way some chickens make the other side of the road.

But why would a chicken want to cross the road and how do you know some actually make it?

And seeing as you obviously know all about chickens then which came first:-

A chicken or an egg?

802661 2009-08-23 10:55:00 The sensible sentencing trust in New Zealand are heroes.
I hope the judges think about them when they sentence if they do its win win.
The tagger was committing a crime (vandalism) and paid the price.

Death penalty for spraying some paint - pretty much sums up your approach doesn't it.

802662 2009-08-23 11:02:00 How come there aren't any hanging judges to coin a phrase, in NZ instead of the crop of weak liberal ones? What went so horribly wrong we ended with these sicko judges.

In the old days of magistrates every district had a hard magristrate, almost every SMs daughter was reputed killed by a drunk driver, or so people told you when you went up pissed in charge. People called them sir or your honour even if they didn't deserve the title, they were truly terrifying peices of work.
Even teenagers aren't scared of a standard sicko NZ judge now.
I am anti death penalty but if a scum crim gets taken out in the process of committing crime it can be put in the **** happens basket.
Not sure how chickens come into the discussion, good ol R2x1 trying to lighten things up I suppose.

802663 2009-08-23 11:23:00 The problem in NZ is the judges here are all soft.

Fixed.

I'm sure you'd feel differently if it was your son murdered and then the Sensible Sentencing Trust came along and told you he deserved it because he did some petty act. So is illegal parking on your list of things where it is ok to kill someone, where do you draw your line?

Interesting how young boys now became "scum crim", I guess it helps you justify the murder of young people by giving them such a label. And you call Judges sicko.

802665 2009-08-23 11:42:00 Illegal parking isnt a criminal offence its called a summary offence.
Sorry if calling criminals scum upsets you.

In this thread, to see that chickens have succeeded, use good judgment.

Chickens had to come first; since before a meaningful egg could be laid, a chicken had to be laid.

802667 2009-08-23 11:47:00 Do you still have those flocks of wild chickens in the North Shore? prefect (6291)
802668 2009-08-23 11:52:00 Well, there was a peacock lurking around here for a while that was pretty fowl tempered. It got deported for late night singing and threatening old ladies plus terrorising cats R2x1 (4628)

Doesn't upset me - just shows how you dehuminise people to justify homicide of people for minor offences. I guess you can't cope with the idea that the teenager concerned was human, and his death was for spraying paint on a wall. I was just wondering where you draw the line, most normal people would think that the guy who killed him should have got life, but it appears you feel the defence of provocation was justified on this occasion.
