883351 2010-05-14 01:54:00 LED monitor 3x the price , at a guess
LCD, get one with a 3 YEAR zero defect warranty (not 1year)

The cheaper LCD's are budget quality display, still good enough for 99% of us

and YES, you can get cheap & good quality. You just have to do a bit of research first to find out what to buy. (cheap, not ultra cheap: good, not perfect)
You cant allways go by website reveiws, as the actual panels used-in the same model-will change over time: for my samsung, After 6mnths & ex. reveiws they started using noticeably inferior panels.

883352 2010-05-18 10:49:00 When you say LED monitor, what exactly do you mean though?

Do you mean an LCD which uses LEDs for backlighting instead of the usual CCFLs?
Or do you mean OLED? (Organic LED)
Or a display which uses actual LEDs (like the displays on the trains\buses - I doubt you mean this though!)

Hey dude, this is page of AoC LED monitor
www.aocmonitorap.com

883353 2010-05-18 11:27:00 Yes, that's an LCD with LED back-lighting.

Only thing I can say about AOC is that I've got a 17" AOC LCD which I had to repair (failed capacitors)

The overall design seemed OK but they were using Hermei capacitors which aren't great (then again, I think most monitors use pretty cheap parts)

In either case that monitor you're looking at looks impressive on paper. I would ask for a demonstration in the shop first though before I bought it.

883355 2010-05-23 22:07:00 I just mean that you should probably see it working first before you buy it to make sure you like the picture quality etc Agent_24 (57)
