803138 2009-08-21 05:48:00 I don't want to look at the list until I have made my own - but I may not get to ten!

ET wasn't SciFi in my opinion.
I don't like any of the Star Wars movies at all, nor the

Enemy Mine (en.wikipedia.org)
Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow (en.wikipedia.org)
Silent Running (en.wikipedia.org)
The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension (en.wikipedia.org)
A Boy And His Dog (en.wikipedia.org)
*batteries not included (en.wikipedia.org)
Spaced Invaders (en.wikipedia.org)
Fantastic Voyage (en.wikipedia.org) (I worked on the sets)
The Last Starfighter (en.wikipedia.org)
Soylent Green (en.wikipedia.org)
Blade Runner (en.wikipedia.org)
Dune (en.wikipedia.org)
Close Encounters of the Third Kind (en.wikipedia.org)
Outland (en.wikipedia.org)

Well - - I went over ten I think.

803139 2009-08-21 05:48:00 Agree -with that list (seen them all) with the proviso that the Blade Runner version should be the "Director's Cut" version...

You mean the false directors cut put together without the directors input or the secondary directors cut release featuring the actual directors cut?

Personally I enjoyed all three releases......

Disagree with pretty much the entire list though.

803140 2009-08-21 08:42:00 The only sci fi worth watching although it's not a movie is Red Dwarf, the rest is just inferior non comedy and so not with it, in fact they make me want to :sleep gary67 (56)
803141 2009-08-21 10:45:00 Dune was a pretty good movie. Some of the Star Trek movies were great as will. Star Trek Generations the movie to name but one.
:)

803142 2009-08-23 23:34:00 Good choice Fantastic Voyage, had Raquel Welsh, and good effects within their bodily travels - particularly when they were attacked by the anti-bodies?)

Also earlier films like Forbidden Planet (Earl Holliman), The Bamboo Saucer, Invasion of the Body Snatchers, Majin the Monster (I think it's called that) and a early 60's film with a young Edward Ashner (a science-spy type film)...

"There be whales here!" is not high drama .

I feel that the Star Trek is just a remake of "The Hardy Boys In Space" and not much better than Battlestar Gallactica - which is the absolute armpit of science fiction .

How about this: "Bicentennial Man" w/Robin Willaims

. . . . it's almost "I Sing The Body Electric"

803144 2009-08-23 23:55:00 I see The Chronicles Of Riddick is on TV 3 tonight and yes I will be watching it.

Not that it would be my favourite. That would be 2001 and Close encounters of the third kind I enjoyed as well.

For its time, The day the earth stood still wasn't bad either.

803145 2009-08-24 01:06:00 Yes Close Encounters Of The Third Kind would have to be one of my favorites. I have the 30th Anniversary Ultimate Edition DVD pack which includes all 3 versions The Directors Cut, Special Edition and Origional Theatrical Version.
:)
