883634 2010-05-10 11:19:00 Not sure what is wrong but I am showing over 12k in seeds for the torrent I am using for a tester and over 1200 peers yet I am only connecting to 1 seed.

Can anyone advise what I need to check and where I need to check it to sort this out please?

883635 2010-05-10 12:28:00 Is your port open? uTorrent allowed in your firewall?

Hit Ctrl+G or go Options -> Setup Guide. You can use the tester there to check if your port is open.

Uncheck the "bandwidth test" before you hit "run test" button so you only test port status.

883636 2010-05-10 12:43:00 Green ticks.
I even made sure the port was forwarded in the router.

883639 2010-05-10 22:55:00 How many open connections have you allowed? I think the default is either 200 or 50.

Also is anything else using the internet (eg another person on the network also running a torrent or multi-connection download program)

883640 2010-05-10 23:15:00 There are two to three connected computers at any one time but none of them use torrents cept for me.

Where do I check open connections in uTorrent?

883641 2010-05-10 23:32:00 Does your ISP do any traffic throttling or filtering? Do you have a firewall, either on the PC or router, that may be blocking or limiting connections? inphinity (7274)
883642 2010-05-10 23:33:00 If you have a software firewall, try turning it off temporarily just for testing... Agent_24 (57)
883643 2010-05-11 03:30:00 No throttling or filtering on my plan, software firewall only (win7 firewall) it has a exception for utorrent DeSade (984)
