2010-05-09 21:23:00 | I downloaded a file last night. This morning it is still seeding. Comodo tells me to right click and select terminate. However this is greyed out. How long does seeding last? How can I stop it?

2010-05-09 21:46:00 | It will seed when ever someone else in the world is downloading the file. There is a setting somewhere that you can set the upload speed when nothing is downloading, it is a good idea to set it to 1kb. | nedkelly (9059) | |

2010-05-10 12:25:00 | Stay with what you are use too. :) Heh, it's funny, every time I use that as an argument against me using Windows 7 people tell me I should change. In other on topic news - seeding usually lasts until your upload ratio reaches a preset point. The default for most clients seems to be 100 or 150% (that is, of what you download) So if the file is 500MB, the seeding only stops when you have uploaded 500MB or 750MB respectively. If you want the seeding to stop instantly upon download completion, change the ratio target to 0% (or find the torrent and click stop - fun if you're using Vuze because it hides them for fun. This is why I suggest uTorrent, everything is very easily accessible and logically organised.) In either case, if you can spare the bandwidth\cap you should upload at least 100% to ensure you give back and keep the torrent running for other people.

2010-05-10 23:14:00 | i agree with Agent 24, get utorrent, it's so much easier and better organized. or you can get Bittorrent which is exactly the same as utorrent but with a different logo and name | goodiesguy (15316) | |
2010-05-10 23:48:00 | utorrent is a small version of bittorrent. They are the same engine. | nedkelly (9059) | |
