| 804686 | 2009-08-27 00:37:00 | Whats with all the faulty ATM cards. Seriously I take pretty good care of my ATM card, as well as could be expected from any normal person... The issue is they seem to not work as well as older cards. Like my new kiwibank visa debit card has been replaced twice already, both times for not reading properly, The bank tells me its not their fault and want to charge me $10 every time. They say its scratched, (which it is but not at all badly) the problem is as a user I have no control of how scratched my card gets once it goes into a retailers card reader, often they are not cleaned, poorly maintained etc and actually damage cards.... It makes me annoyed that we have to do things like put a plastic bag over it, a piece of sellotape or other crazy things that seem to work, but shouldnt be neccessary in the first place. Is it just me having problems or do others also have problems with cards not reading properly. Thx Marty |

| 804691 | 2009-08-27 02:34:00 | I always tape mine now. Never had a card stuff up cause of it, and I'd agree that newer cards are a lot less durable than some old ones. Been through 3 eftpos cards in the last 2 years, the one before that lasted for about 4 years I think. | wratterus (105) | ||
