884541 2010-05-13 10:59:00 Running XP Pro and I've tried to switch on the fax service. Add/Remove Programs - Windows Components - tick Fax - following which the Wizard asks me to insert my XP disc.

I'm on an HP laptop 6710b and so far as I can recall, XP is already stored on it. No CD when I bought it.

Solutions suggest searching the HD and finding the i386 files, one of which should be huge. So I did and found this C:\WINDOWS\ServicePackFiles\i386. It is 561MB and by far the largest i386 file.

Tried cut and paste in the Wizard but no good. I'm at the end of my tether. Any suggestions??

There should also be a create disks utility installed in Programs if it came with XP installed.
