| 1449974 | 2018-05-26 07:41:00 | My dad has an old win 7 Dell laptop and use it less frequently. So it is not surprising when he forgot the password. Actually, this is not a big deal as there are tons of free and paid programs would fix this. However, I don't know what is wrong with Dell. I am using Ophcrack and it works like a charm on my HP laptop. Is dell running tough security policy? | manuokcz (17615) | ||

Wouldn't bother with Ophcrack, to outdated, why not simply boot from a CD and remove the password, then boot in normally (without password) and re-create one if still required. Download on a accessible working PC Lazesoft Recovery Suite www.lazesoft.com Make a CD ( not to sure if there's a USB option, been a while since I made a new Disk) use reset password - Remove the password by leaving the user account /password option blank - reboot, password gone :) In Windows 10 if you have a email address/password theres other software that will remove /alter the password as well ;) |
