2010-05-17 23:51:00 | I have recently purchased a USB flash drive (8GB). Plug it in my tower, (after crawling under the desk), everything works just fine, Flash Drive, Printer, Scanner. Now have new Monitor (AOC 2236 22") with USB 2.0 connection on the back. This will be very useful, will not have to crawl under desk to plug in Flash drive. Problem - every time flash drive is plugged into monitor socket, the printer if trying to use, comes up with Epson Status Monitor saying "Printer is not ready to print. check connections and devices." Take the flash drive out of Monitor all works OK. I could use extension lead to desk top (more birds nests). What is the technical reason for this event.

2010-05-18 00:41:00 | Hi Agent, tried swapping two rear plugs containing the Printer & Scanner, same result, Printer no go, Scanner OK. | Slim (4633) | |
2010-05-18 00:47:00 | What if you swap the monitor with the scanner etc? | Agent_24 (57) | |
2010-05-18 00:47:00 | Leave scanner unplugged, try again, shift to front ports, try different ports period....update printer software.....!! | SolMiester (139) | |
2010-05-18 01:02:00 | Hi Agent, Do not want cables permantly connected drapping to Monitor, therefore Printer and Scanner must be under desk in back of tower. | Slim (4633) | |
2010-05-18 01:05:00 | Hi Sol, No problems no matter were Scanner plugged in, that will always work. | Slim (4633) | |
2010-05-18 01:06:00 | The monitor USB plugs into a USB port on the computer right? Swap that plug on the computer with the scanner\printer? I assume they are all right next to each other at the back of the PC?

2010-05-18 01:23:00 | Hi Sol, There is NO USB cable or connection from Monitor to Tower, only the usual Monitor cable & plug, I presume the USB signal is sent to tower through this usual cable. Are you familiar with this Monitor. | Slim (4633) | |
