| 885473 | 2010-05-16 19:55:00 | Have a desktop with 160GB Sata HDD and it only shows 149GB so I think it has a XP restore partition.If the owner installs W7 home will it overwrite the "'lost 11 GB" ? | kjaada (253) | ||
| 885474 | 2010-05-16 20:56:00 | Go into Windows Explorer. Right click the drive, take a note of the capacity in bytes not the rounded off figure at the end. | pctek (84) | ||
| 885475 | 2010-05-16 20:59:00 | X2 as to what Pctek wrote. 149GB is about right for a 160GB drive. |

| 885477 | 2010-05-16 21:39:00 | Simple answer NO -- the answers still remain the same. Heres what Pctek was talking about, (my HDD is 250GB) Heres a picture (www.imagef1.net.nz) Highlighted area - Notice on the right it says 232GB - but the bytes show 250,056,etc which is the real size. So your drive would show 149 on the right, and 160,???,??? under the bytes |
