| 885364 | 2010-05-16 07:10:00 | i decided to go back to good old xp as i decided i wanted performance over eye candy. ocasionally my 2 monitors will go into standy by for no reason and i can't get out of it. im running avast 5 free (all legit) winamp 5 free (legit) av rack is installed (part of realtek ac 97) i have 2 hard drives. i updated it to service pack 3 last nite and it has made it happen less often but i would like to eliminate it. i am gonna update my video card driver |

| 885366 | 2010-05-16 07:15:00 | ok thank you. hope it helps the problem. it normally happens randomly but this should fix it. it normally happens when im listening to music and browsing internet. but then, thats what i always do. im not much of a gamer. i sometimes whip out my gta san andreas and vice city disks and play. i ocasionally play halo combat evolved. battlefield 1942 and veitnam are personal favorites of mine. |

You don't specifically need to stop the monitor from going in to standby, but I'd try stopping your *PC* from going in to standby and seeing if that resolves your issue. | Chilling_Silence (9) | ||
