2010-05-15 10:20:00 | Did you run all the registry files, since it doesnt normally work with Win7? | Speedy Gonzales (78) | |
2010-05-15 10:42:00 | You didnt run the hidden winmail.exe file in Win7 did you. Because even tho its there, it doesnt work (which is why its hidden) | Speedy Gonzales (78) | |

2010-05-15 12:08:00 | I can vouch for that - I have had Vista Windows mail on several customers PC's for quite a while, and they all work fine. Mind you -- It as done differently As per these instructions (www.mydigitallife.info) Copied the complete folder from a Vista PC. (%SystemDrive%\Program Files\Windows Mail\ folder from Windows Vista system, including the MUI language pack folder.) Which contains several other files as well. I have it on a workshop PC, using a Junk email account I have- No problems, its opened every other day. Just thinking :nerd: about what may be the problem  Edited: Just a guess, but if it was done the way you linked, a recent update may have broken it, as some file may now not be available or has changed.

2010-05-15 12:31:00 | Add to above: ( timer ran out) Try searching for .eml file extension, that's what Windows Mail (vista) uses - so god knows where its stored by the method you linked - search for hidden files as well. By any chance are you using Norton as a AV ?

2010-05-15 13:04:00 | This (www.vistaheads.com) will be why windows mail stuffed up. KB978542 (support.microsoft.com) which came out this week (Wednesday). By the looks of it, you'll have to either uninstall this update. Or copy the latest version of msoe.dll from vista (32 or 64 bit), depending on which version of Win7 you're using to fix it. If you dont have 32 or 64 bit vista, give me a yell / send me a PM. I'll send you a copy (let me know if you're using 32 or 64 bit)

Thats the second update theat stuffs it then - I came across one months ago that would kill all the attachments not openable nor savable. Why not just use a non-Microsoft email program, way less hassle. |
