2010-05-18 01:27:00 | There is no way USB would be sent over the video cable. All the monitors I have seen with USB ports inbuilt run a normal USB cable from the monitor to the computer... It would be possible to integrate the USB cable into the video cable but then there would still be a USB plug attached to it for you to plug into the computer

It would be possible to integrate the USB cable into the video cable but then there would still be a USB plug attached to it for you to plug into the computer +1. I agree, usually there is a transport USB cable to 'Liven' USB on the monitor....the connection cable will be normal USB at one end and a kind of U shape enclosed plug at the other... Just checked a review site...It is a USB pass thru connector, therefore requires cable from USB on PC to monitor! |

2010-05-18 02:46:00 | Hi Sol and Agent, Upon rechecking you are both correct, I was wrong, there is a USB cable from Monitor to back of tower. Four sockets at back, Have now tried all combinations of sockets with Printer, Scanner, Monitor combinations, rebooted after each alteration. Still same result, if Flash drive in Monitor, scanner OK, printer NO good. Flash drive in front Tower socket, everything OK.

2010-05-18 03:12:00 | When the printer stops, go into the device manager and see if there are any conflicts or errors under the USB devices (it will be expanded out). Edited: What OS are you using ?

2010-05-18 03:16:00 | Does the printer have memory slots for reading memory cards? How old is the PC?, How many USB slots at the back, can you move the monitor USB connection to the front and test....could be as 1st posted, the BUS is saturated! | SolMiester (139) | |
2010-05-18 03:56:00 | Scan of system, Slots (never used) in front of printer MFC CX8300, 1 year old. 4 USB sockets at back of Tower, 2 USB sockets in front of Tower. I could use spare back of tower socket, but will have to get longer cable to bring to desk top and plug Flash drive into that. In Device Manager - All devices working properly. | 885766 | 2010-05-18 05:23:00 | Put the flash drive in the computer, any slot, then change the drive letter to say Z:...see if the printer work now when the USB stick is in the monitor..... Use computer management to change the drive letter.....
