I love all of the comments that I am seeing at the moment. It is opening my mind up I am just scared to fail the TFC programme. The thing is it requires you to attend tutorials/lecuters for 20 hours and also they want you to put in 20 more hours of additional work. That is too much. I mean I am 19 at the moment and if in 1 more year I will be granted admission by maturity why bother getting up every morning and working hard for tfc if i can get in open entry in 1 more year. All I do now is hang out with my home boys and drink beer party etc. I know it isn't good for my future but will the uni let me in I mean I am mature.

Don't bother x 2. I do full time study at Uni and work 35-40 hours a week and yet, I've never missed a lecture unless I was sick and most of the other here are in the same position (studying + working or working multiples jobs etc)

Its just about taking on some responsibilities and learning how to prioritize what's important for your life. Home boys or a decent education?

And people wonder why NZ is going down the pipes...

805114 2009-08-29 17:53:00 I would bother . I would rather you had a go than not try as it is my working a$$ that will pay for your dole money as that is where you are heading for the rest of your life .

Uni is a good option but not the only option . Stop drinking and smoking weed for 1 week . Apologise to your parents for the crap you caused then sit down with them and listen to their advice . Then ring up your old school counsellor and again apologise for being a little sh!t at school, arrange a meeting and ask for his/her views and advice .

I enjoyed learning a trade but realised I could extend myself futher after several years as a mechanic . I went to AIT (now AUT) and did another course which I loved then on to Uni . There is no point going to Uni if there is no goal . Polytech I reckon tend to be more specific about the possible outcomes .

Whichever way you go will require work, and lots of it . Also, alcohol and partying will be so much of an easy temptation for you at any institution there that unless you honestly say you are not going to succumb to endless boozing and partying then as the others said - dont bother .

805116 2009-08-30 06:13:00 I would love to give you a try at my role, but I get the feeling I would sack you before a week is up. Pity I haven't figured out how to do that. Big Companies are so rigid. (With good reason) the_bogan (9949)

And with comments like that... Nope. Unless you get really lucky, you have to work your ass off. Untill I can prove you keep at the same role, doing the same things, for three months, then your previous comments have discredited you.
