| 806846 | 2009-09-04 09:32:00 | Hi, from my experience sometimes it can be frustrating to get to work. It finds the network and the signal is v strong but at times I find that it auto connects because if you try to connect yourself it fails. Experienced on a laptop, and a Skype phone. Like my laptop, turn it on and give it a few minutes after windows starts up. If you try to search the network and insert password or none and connect, it won't work. My Skype phone, found out auto logon to open networks worked but manually select a open network and say connect without a password didn't. For secure networks, select network and say connect and insert password didn't. Then I press cancel than to retry. Then amazingly in the background it is already connected with my green online icon for Skype. Skype password from previously has been saved in. It seems to me it connects ok by itself but not when the user initialise it. What have your experience been? |

I have found superb reliability from the Tomato firmware running on an Asus WL-520GU, they're solid as a rock :) I manage around 10 wireless devices at home, and around 30 at my parents prior to moving out a few months back. Also, things such as a fresh installation of Windows will go a long way to fixing the issues you described. For what it's worth, streaming HD movies over G-Wireless isn't all that difficult either :) Cheers Chill. |

It's reliable enough for me to install Mac OS X on my MacBook Air wirelessly. :p | maccrazy (6741) | ||
