| 806837 | 2009-09-04 08:47:00 | I am looking for some job advice, where would the best place to go or ask for advice? (Can I ask here?) I am in need of advice on how to find the best job for me, how to approach someone / some company, asking if they are looking for staff/ need staff, applying for a job etc etc Hope you can help me here :) Bit of my work history & why I am after this advice: The job I am in at the moment, I never need to apply or go thought any of the normal process of getting a job. How I got my current job was that my mum knows a women who she works with & her husband was at the time working for Netcheck (The Job Search site), & from their he started his own Web Design / Development company, which now has merged into another company, and because of this I need to find another job. |

| 806838 | 2009-09-04 08:58:00 | What sort of work are you after? The approach you'd take can vary from industry to industry (i.e. trying to get a job at a law firm, vs. working as a labourer). | somebody (208) | ||
| 806839 | 2009-09-04 09:28:00 | What sort of work are you after? Any thing really. Maybe working in a shop (I am thinking about seen if I can get a job in an internet café something like that ) or working in cattery.... I was looking for Web Design sort of work, but their is no real market at the moment, plus most of the time you need a Portfolio of work you have done, but when you have only built 4 websites that are still online, that makes things a bit harder . |

| 806844 | 2009-09-04 12:19:00 | First thing would be to have a good look at your CV and make sure its full upto date and in the correct format. Then start tapping into some of your contacts and/or companies in your industry/CAB and see what sort of response you get from them and adjust your strategy accordingly. | beeswax34 (63) | ||
