886962 2010-05-22 00:18:00 I was bragging about it before .
I cannot . I find it hard to find out where the shop is located . Great if they can put a city search on it - or filter .

It is also a mess to find what components you want and where it falls under .
Aucklanders is not too bad, most are in AKL so you can do a search provided you can get the category .

But for me I find that 80% are in AKL and they charge a courier fee

Now, I just use a few shops that I know previously . . . . .

886963 2010-05-22 00:24:00 But for me I find that 80% are in AKL and they charge a courier fee Well someone has to pay for delivery.

The couriers dont do it for nothing, and it would cost the shop otherwise. Places that dont charge postage/courier you will find its actually built into the goods price.

If a person went and collected an item it would also cost them - either in car running costs, a bus - unless you were walking it wouldn't actually cost any real money.

Price spy is easy to navigate around. Click on Computers, then products, and select a sub category to find what you want, or do a search - in the Info where the NZ flag is, click that and it gives you all the details, most include a map of the shops location.

886964 2010-05-22 00:28:00 Yeah .. to me it is simpler dealing with shops that incl them. Some of them, incl the good ones are not that much more expensive.

It would be good if they can filter by city thou. Reorganise the categories better.
I scroll via the page and by experience I had to visit each every shop's URL and click about us just to find where they are located. Or go via pricespy and hit the map which links to google maps. What a journey.

Some of the categories are not aligned . I think you replied to my post sometime ago .

Some incl location, some don't and to pop up google maps can take a while esp when I have exhausted my data cap :p

This memory search does not have a location and I tried clicking more filters:
. co . nz/category . php?k=376" target="_blank">pricespy . co . nz

When I select one of the memory it opens this:
. co . nz/product . php?p=524813" target="_blank">pricespy . co . nz

Again no location, apart from a NZ flag, a few shops show the delivery policy and costs . There is a button to click for shops close to Auckland, but what about those not in Auckland .

Click the first shop for more details next or at the flag, it says:

The store is located in New Zealand and prices are shown in New Zealand Dollars (NZD) . Communication with the store can be in english .

Click more information and it says:
Full company name:
Company registration number:
GST number: 100076535

IMO  Maybe people need to visit each and every store's URL .

886966 2010-05-22 00:42:00 I think the ones with less information available is to do with the shop, not actually price spy.

I see quite a few have This message (www.imagef1.net.nz) on the right hand side of the Info link. (maybe theres an charge for extended info - or some other reason its not activated)

886967 2010-05-22 00:46:00 Yes, a lot companies haven't. Incl some more known ones. Thou it is optional, it does affect Price Spy. If they are optional and the stores choose not to, as far as a potential customer is concerned, it's not practical.

Some of the shops do have a google map thou but you need to click the map button to see that. It's not out in the open at the macro view. So you need to click every single shop just to know.

It's like saying advertising on the local newspaper but don't offer a telephone or address but just a URL. Or more like, advertising on the NZ newspaper (fictional) and not saying if they are in AKL, WGN,, CHC or Invercargill.

886968 2010-05-22 01:59:00 yes, it used to be very easy to filter results to a location, and have only those shops in the location showing the product you wanted, and the price and location of the shops.

I gave up trying there a while ago

886969 2010-05-22 02:17:00 I actually really like the new layout; 'modern' features like incremental searching make finding items so much easier. TBH I didn't like it when they first changed over, but I was looking around on pricespy.com.au the other day, which uses the old site, and it was a complete 'mare. nofam (9009)
