| 887677 | 2010-05-24 06:09:00 | I run a mic into my laptop . The sound level is very low . When I access the sound, in control panel, there is an adjustment for the mic . It is set at 16 - much too low . Increasing the level seems simple enough but unfortunately, after I increase the level and then click OK (apply is greyed out) and then close the sound, then re-access the sound it has defaulted to 16 . While I can increase the volume, in post production, of the recorded sound, the quality is poor as it also increases any background noise - not a viable option . I would like to be able to increase the volume so it stays there . My laptop runs Vista and my sound recording programme is Cool Edit . Thanks for your help . |
