887287 2010-05-23 01:20:00 Cant see why not. Just make sure you've got the drivers / or get them before you reformat. Just in case Vista doesnt install whatever Speedy Gonzales (78)
887288 2010-05-23 01:22:00 the asus site has xp and win7 drivers. can i use the win 7 drivers? aidanmaz (7180)
887289 2010-05-23 01:33:00 Maybe able to use Win7 drivers. Altho you may or may not have to update the BIOS first. Since, it looks like the latest BIOS supports Win7 Speedy Gonzales (78)
887290 2010-05-23 01:36:00 Sorry to hear about the incident happened to your main laptop.

My main laptop has recently given up due to an overheating issue that affected the graphics adaptor. :(

The programs that you mentioned in the first post should be able to install fine on your ASUS Eee.

Cheers :)

887291 2010-05-23 01:36:00 thanks Speedy, will post back later if all successful. Cheers aidanmaz (7180)
887292 2010-05-23 05:32:00 I am not sure if its relevant to you but the EEE that use Win7 use Win7 Starter which is not the same as a win7 retail product, the drivers may work for win7/vista and they may not. DeSade (984)

887294 2010-05-23 14:44:00 With 2GB RAM it sounds like it should be able to run Windows 7 OK, unless the CPU is terrible. Agent_24 (57)
887295 2010-05-23 20:38:00 All the Win updates will slowly and surely strangle the living daylights out of the eeePc little HD - we recently installed the mini version of Ubuntu on a friend's eeePc and it's all going very nicely.
