887267 2010-05-22 21:49:00 I have a Asus L3000D here that shows "Disk Boot Failure" at startup.
The HD may have died but is still readable when slaved to another system.
I doesent show up in the bios or when booted from a win cd.
I am told it did this once previously & was overcome by removing the battery for a short period of time.

887269 2010-05-22 23:00:00 I was refering to the main power battery.
I think the cmos battery is ok, the time is still correct.

887270 2010-05-23 00:51:00 The mbr could be corrupt or something. Copy the data from the hdd on another system and format it, see if the setup will pick it up then. WarNox (8772)
887271 2010-05-23 01:48:00 Fortunatly there is nothing of importance saved on it.
Darn thing, I just booted it to show someone the error message & it went right into windows.

887272 2010-05-23 01:54:00 Loose or faulty connector? KarameaDave (15222)
887273 2010-05-23 02:05:00 Possibly, HD has been in & out a few times.
Had a good look at the conections with a magnifier last time, then sprayed them with contact cleaner. Still didn't work afterwards. Was a couple of hours after that I tryed it & it worked.
