I have a cable router at present so it looks as tho' I will have to get myself a wireless router. Pato (2463)
887110 2010-05-22 04:23:00 you go into settings, wifi, then it should bring up a list of availiable wireless networks, type in password if necessary GameJunkie (72)
887111 2010-05-22 04:28:00 you go into settings, wifi, then it should bring up a list of availiable wireless networks, type in password if necessarySo how do you get a password if you are in a well known coffee franchise.? Pato (2463)
887112 2010-05-22 04:33:00 If its free you probably wont need one. If you need one, ask Speedy Gonzales (78)
887113 2010-05-22 04:55:00 If its free you probably wont need one. If you need one, askOIC. Thanks for the advice. As you can see I am new to this WiFi but am learning fast.
I presume if I get a wireless router to replace my present Cable/DSL I will need a card or some sort in my home PC's.?

Actually, there are some apps you can get that show more wifi networks than the settings app does, and also some hidden networks.

But, the iPod's range is actually very good. When I was in Las Vegas, and I connected my iPod to the hotel's wifi in the lobby, I was able to travel through 2 lifts, and go up about 10 stories before the wifi eventually cut out. So, yeah. it's pretty good.
