808784 2009-09-11 03:24:00 Ok, haven't been using this for a while and it's been acceptable, but no longer. Just before a massive block of the left hand side of the screen has become useless, has someone got the latest stylish script handy? Thanks. :) wratterus (105)
808785 2009-09-11 04:27:00 If they are trying to drive people away - they may succeed.

OK the forum may need ads to pay the bills - but its starting to get to much - wait for the pop up advertising to appear.

Can we report the ads as :spam part of rule # 8) No commercial posting, spamming, ----- ALL of these (www.imagef1.net.nz) - in one form or another are paid products.

808786 2009-09-11 04:31:00 If only! :groan:

Somebody recommended using ABP's Element Hiding Helper, make sure you tick the width condition when selecting it and all will be gravy once more. Wish we didn't have to do this to make the forum usable though :(

808787 2009-09-11 05:21:00 Gee, thanks for posting this, wratterus.

My heart sank when I turned my comp on after time out of town. I thought the "extra" must be an infection I'd acquired somehow just before leaving.

Finding out it's another dratted PF1 pest (hence forum brainpower will no doubt find a fix ) cheers me up immensely.
I can be patient...

808789 2009-09-11 05:34:00 PC world need to hire a web designer. All the subject titles are now 'centered', and they have put advertising blocks in the worst possible places. Last time they did this, they lost a lot of regular users. robbyp (2751)
808790 2009-09-11 05:43:00 I can't even connect to the site using FF3.5.3 (with Stylish and Bletch's/Erayd's code turned on)!!! Have to use IE Tab!!! johcar (6283)

They have a web designer (Mary?) who I'm sure has been told to raise the profile of the advertising.

I still think we should turn off ads (or present them in a lower impact way) for logged-in forum members, as by far and away guests outweigh members 100% of the time. It's currently sitting at 21 members and 294 guests. The vocal minority against advertising could only be the logged in members so doing this would nip that in the bud.

Ok, well they have some major formating problems, at least in Opera it is formatting badly. You would think they would test their template before putting it live. It looks like they maybe doing it on the fly. At least they haven't got the advertsing filling up the entire top of the screen, like it previously was.
