808824 2009-09-12 01:32:00 Adblock Plus is not intuitively easy to muck around with......at least that's what I feel. One has to resist the urge to be click happy :)

Maybe you have deleted the original filter rules. I can't remember where they came from, but you can reload a set of rules from here:

adblockplus.org

or here: http://easylist.adblockplus.org/

808826 2009-09-13 01:04:00 That must be hard on a dedicated right-thinger like yourself. ;) R2x1 (4628)
808827 2009-09-13 01:29:00 My thingy is now in the middle as apposed to being on the left as it used to be.

Be careful of your thingy..........

If as described you install Adblock Plus and the Adblock Plus Element Hider Helper, and have a play with your thingy, you will eventually get a wall to wall screen like this:
www.imagef1.net.nz

or, if you clag up you will see nothing but wall to wall blue, but it's the right political colour for you

Edit: If you look at the wall to wall jpg, you can see the blue peeping out at you at each edge of the picture, getting all ready to fill your whole screen ...........

808830 2009-09-13 02:19:00 Using @-moz-something, but I can't remember fully - I don't use Firefox (I'm an Opera chap). Could someone else who *does* use stylish help out here?

See here (pressf1.co.nz).

808832 2009-09-13 02:47:00 Install AddBlock Plus Element Hiding Helper addon Joe. Then when you right click on the ABP icon at bottom right of screen (you may have to set the option for it to be there), there is an option to select the element to hide.

When you have selected the element which is the blank block on the left and confirmed a window will open. There is a preview box which is useful, and somewhere on there is a width box with the value 170. Tick that box, and everything is hunky dory again.

PressF1 now fills your screen wall to wall, not an ad in sight and no blank space down the left hand side.

Good luck:thumbs:

Ta Terry, that works very well thanks!

It's no use. I have no troubles at all with my thingy and I do get a full screen with no white banners down either side.

Every time I get it set and can see nothing but posts and Cic's chatter, the next click destroys it all and I have to reset it all over again.

I think it's Cicero who's doing it to me.

How does he do that?

What's disgusting is that page loading at almost 3KBPS takes me over a full minute now with all the jumping/moving/hopping advertisements and spam on the sidebars and header.
