2009-09-11 07:40:00 | For Firefox, I just knocked up this Stylish style (first time, sure there's a better more portable/flexible way to do it) -- @namespace url(www.w3.org); @-moz-document domain("pressf1.co.nz") { td[width="170"]{ display: none !important; } }

2009-09-11 09:34:00 | The forum does seem to display faster than previously though (but I'm not blocking anything, if that makes a difference), and doesnt shift the post positions while downloading/updating the page (dont know if this annoyed anybody else, pissed me off tho, if you were a bit slow clicking on a post it would fly up the screen and you'd miss it (grr)); a positive step? | feersumendjinn (64) | |
2009-09-11 09:47:00 | Sheeeesh! I go away for a few hours and this happens . I thought I had caught the H1N1 in the puter, but I fired up three units and they all did the same thing . I live so far away from the advertisers that I cannot possibly trade with or even consider accepting discounts for anything in Upsidedown Land . At least try to keep the ads local to youse guys and leave us Rightside Uppers alone! Where is this "width" setting in ABP? I know the problem's in here, but how do I block it? Install AddBlock Plus Element Hiding Helper addon Joe . Then when you right click on the ABP icon at bottom right of screen (you may have to set the option for it to be there), there is an option to select the element to hide . When you have selected the element which is the blank block on the left and confirmed a window will open . There is a preview box which is useful, and somewhere on there is a width box with the value 170 . Tick that box, and everything is hunky dory again . PressF1 now fills your screen wall to wall, not an ad in sight and no blank space down the left hand side . Good luck:thumbs:

2009-09-11 11:59:00 | With Opera, you set it as a site-specific stylesheet. With Firefox, you use the stylish addon to apply it (but remember to limit it to the PF1 site only, otherwise the rest of your browsing experience will look *very* weird). The end result is a forum with every piece of advertising and branding I could find stripped out of it, except for the small and unobtrusive links to the other FFBM sites at the bottom of the page. Also known as "the forum, and nothing but the forum."

It probably runs on it's own dedicated server.It shares a dedicated server with a few other things, but it's a pretty well-specced server. | Erayd (23) | ||
