But no it has a graphic Card - they are the only spare boards I have that will take 4+ GB of RAM = require GFX cards.

Processor:Recommended: 2 GHz (x64 processor) or faster

Memory:Minimum: 4 GB RAM Maximum: 32 GB

Its a curious --- lets have a "play" project.

WARNOX: just as a test, can you take the drives out of a RAID setup, try installing on a single drive - see what happens (stranger things happen as we all know)

if you get really stuck I can send you This here (www.imagef1.net.nz) - may or may not be of help ?

888184 2010-05-27 00:41:00 ?, must be R2 which is x64 only, I have a couple of 2008 R1 on x86 and only 2 Gb RAM Its not Server 2008 R2 (www.microsoft.com) - I had that running on a machine with 2 GB as well, no problems.

Its Small Business Server 2008 (www.microsoft.com) - different server Programs.

888186 2010-05-27 04:12:00 I also had the same problem. Installed fine the first time from an ISO image but it turned out it was a hacked version. Downloaded the real trial version and burnt it and got the same error every time. In the end I went and downloaded the image from another site and burnt it and it had trouble as well even though the burn verified. I then burnt it using the slowest speed possible on the burner and then it worked fine and installed properly. It was 4 days trying. veldthui (15543)
888187 2010-05-27 06:21:00 I've downloaded it about 4 times now :) Still no luck.

There are 3 files/ISOs:
1.6001.18000.080118-1840_amd64fre_Server_en-us-KRMSXFRE_EN_DVD.iso
2. 7600.16385.090713-1255_x64fre_server_eval_en-us-GRMSXEVAL_EN_DVD.iso
3. en_windows_server_2008_r2_standard_enterprise_data center_web_vl_build_x64_dvd_x15-59754.iso

The first one is 2008 x64.
The 2nd one is 2008 R2 (x64) - only comes in 64bit
The 3rd one is also 2008 R2.

I've tried all those 3 from either a mounted ISO or mounted CD. Only no1 manages to boot into the setup, giving the attached errors (post 1). The 2nd and 3rd ISOs give 'Error 5' when booting.

I will now put no2 on a bootable USB and try that. If that fails I will set the server back to raid 0 and see how that goes.

888188 2010-05-27 07:15:00 Holy ****, got it working :)

I made a bootable USB drive with the 7600...ISO and booted from that. The setup came up to the same error prompt that it cannot find the drivers. After that I put in my other USB with 26 extracted driver files from the Dell website and Bob's your uncle, picked up the RAID 1 setup and now its installing.

Thanks for all the help, fingers crossed that everything works ok from here.
