The people that spend a lot of time on here answering peoples questions (Wainui, Speedy, pctek, Blam etc...) have to put up with a crappy forum, when they are already offering their time for no reward (well it's always a nice feeling being able to fix people PCs, but apart from that...). Not so much of an issue there because most of the long time members will have ad blocking/scripts installed to sort out the mess. But, with new members it would probably be a different story. Having new people join and offer useful assistance is great, and it's a whole lot more like not to happen when they have to trawl through screeds of ads and put up with an annoying forum layout. |
