888816 2010-05-28 04:08:00 my pc will not start up. all i get is "Award Bios rom checksum error". im don't know if the bios is updated or if it needs to be updated goodiesguy (15316)
888817 2010-05-28 04:18:00 Go into the BIOS set it to the defaults then reconfigure the settings then save them. What did you do for that message to appear? Speedy Gonzales (78)
888818 2010-05-28 04:25:00 this is before i can even get into the bios. i was playing gta san andreas and the screen went into standby mode, it basicly froze. i powered i pressed the restart button. that did nothing. i powered the pc off. i waited a few seconds. i turned it back on and now i get this. i just recently replaced the cmos battery a few weeks back as i have mentioned in another thread. goodiesguy (15316)

888820 2010-05-28 05:14:00 So, this is the power supply that previously, was in
the PC that had BIOS issues as well?
Might be a coincidence...
Do you have access to a known good power supply?
I suppose not if your plan is to buy one...

One cause of BIOS corruption is a bad power supply.
