2009-09-17 10:48:00 I'm not an electrician, but have you tried using a CFL bulb? somebody (208)
2009-09-17 10:48:00 Yes heard of this before, we keep losing washing machines, F&P SmartDrive is the latest, you must be close to a sub station transformer, as I know we are, guaranteed voltage is supposed to be 235 volts i believe but it is not adhered to. zqwerty (97)
2009-09-17 10:54:00 shouldnt the fuseboard thingy be taking care of that?

And no i havent tried a cfl, im sorta gettin sick of changin the bulb lol Its an older house so maybe old wiring ****in out?

2009-09-17 10:56:00 Perhaps you could try a different brand of lamp? Some of the real cheapo's are lucky to last a month. R2x1 (4628)
2009-09-17 10:57:00 Prob the fitting. Tell the landlord. pine-o-cleen (2955)
2009-09-17 11:00:00 hmm, the landlord uses a property management and they are completely useless, i wont go into detail but i swear I could repaint the entire inside of this house and pull up the carpet and polish the floor and they wouldnt notice.

Only got another 4months on the lease so il just deal with, ive used a variety of bulbs so i kinda ruled that out, one of the lights in the kitchen just doesnt go which also had me suspecting wiring

2009-09-17 11:04:00 Would you have an idea how old the house is and maybe the wiring? Marnie (4574)
2009-09-17 11:14:00 at a guess id say 40-50 hueybot3000 (3646)
2009-09-17 12:02:00 Around that time they were using rubber insulation in house wiring which will have decomposed and dried out/fallen off especially above light fittings, leaving you with bare wires in close proximity to flammable materials (ceiling linings, joists etc), would advise you to get the problem looked at, soonest. feersumendjinn (64)
