810778 2009-09-16 05:31:00 I'm keen to see the David Tua vs Shane Cameron fight on Sky at the inlaws' house - from memory it's $30 or so.

Their decoder isn't hooked up to the internet, so can I still book this?

810779 2009-09-16 05:49:00 $39.95.
Probably last all of 2 minutes.

You ring them and book it.

810780 2009-09-16 06:50:00 As long as men have existed, they've had a predilection for paying $39.95 for things that last all of two minutes.

;)

810781 2009-09-16 07:27:00 I have always loved a good boxing match.

That's probably a good reason not to watch it.

810782 2009-09-16 09:38:00 If you want to book it Via the remote, when its available to be booked (you may have to check the guide (or watch for the ad to say " book Now") - go to the channel - prob 200 - press the big orange O on your remote, enter your pin number when it asks for it ( 4 digit), press O 3 times ( I think it is),each time you press the O it will be asking for permission to spend ??

It will then come up saying you have now booked the PPV.

Grab beer and sit back and watch :)

So that would require the decoder to be hooked up to a phone line presumably? Or how else would Sky know I'd booked it?

810784 2009-09-16 10:23:00 Sky decoders are permanently connected to a phone line to make them work gary67 (56)
810785 2009-09-16 10:38:00 Not so the phone jack is only used for to book pay per views and the tab the rest is mostly done by the dish thats what sky told me. Hitech (9024)

Mine has never been connected to it.
Sky satellite is one way only - receive. To transmit (book a program) you are using dialup.
If you use this, and have broadband, you need a filter oon the jackpoint.

You do not have to use it - you can ring them instead. Which is a whole lot faster.
