| 1105651 | 2010-06-01 06:28:00 | I see on one site, that you can copy this folder to somewhere else (after you've updated XP), then copy it back when you do a clean install. Has anyone tried this?? And did it work? And as the topic says, has anyone ever slipstreamed the updates in this folder, with something like nlite? And did that work? |

| 1105653 | 2010-06-03 09:01:00 | For windows updates nLite is very good, it can slipstream pretty much any updates, I used to download updates individually back in the day so I could slipstream them if I ever neede to reload windows. I have a WSUS server now so no longer have a need to do it. |

| 1105654 | 2010-06-03 09:03:00 | Yup I know you can use Nlite, but this sounds like an easier option, if it works. I tried another program, called WUD or something. It downloads all the updates for whatever, then creates an ISO of the updates. You run the setup after you've installed windows. Havent tried the ISO yet, since I've wiped 2k off the hdd (what I downloaded the updates for) | Speedy Gonzales (78) | ||
| 1105655 | 2010-06-03 09:47:00 | That Windows Updates Downloader (http://www.windowsupdatesdownloader.com/) works well, I have used it to download Updates for Vista and XP, but it only brought them through as individual files (from memory) mind you that was an earlier version, so they may have changed it now. Might have to retry it. :D |

( I timed it, not a guess ) Edited: Ok if its the same programs, wheres the option to make the ISO ? it only brought them through as separate files ? |

| 1105658 | 2010-06-03 10:21:00 | what files is 5.8mb? i d/l the file from that link of yours and was 249kb That program is only the base, you need to go to the Update URL list (www.windowsupdatesdownloader.com) - select the update section you want, then when you open WUD, it gives you the options to select what updates you want, double click to install it. The size of the over all downloads will be dependent on what you select Example (www.imagef1.net.nz)--This is how you will see the downloads (www.imagef1.net.nz). If you add in more Update URLs from their list, they will all be available in the drop down box for you to select in the future. |
