889185 2010-05-29 11:31:00 Hi ya, just installed a TV/FM tuner card into my old W2k box and the software that came with it (ATVR V2.2 (????)) whilst functional, its rather clunky, almost industrial to be kind to it........ just wondering if there is any other software out there that could replace it???? its an AVL600A card - i arent really interested (yet) in watching telly on the pc, just some music in the background and now that i'm 40+, talkback radio lol

cheers in advance

889187 2010-05-29 11:56:00 He/She wants it for the radio more than the TV Speedy Gonzales (78)
889188 2010-05-29 12:00:00 oh. um, does it work with something like itunes? i don't use the fm tuner on my tv card so i don't know what works other than its own software goodiesguy (15316)
889189 2010-05-29 21:54:00 I just stream the radio from whatever stations website through Firefox don't need a tuner for that, guess not for those on dial up though gary67 (56)
889190 2010-05-30 00:04:00 There's a couple of decent FM tuner programs for Linux, not sure if there are any for Windows.

There are things like Mediaportal and GB-PVR which can do FM radio but they are really designed with the whole HTPC\PVR thing in mind and aren't really designed to be run in the background just for radio.

I'll tell you if I find anything though

889191 2010-05-30 00:15:00 This might work: www.softpedia.com

You need to run it inside Winamp though

889192 2010-05-30 06:29:00 cool cool cool guys, will check em out, i like the idea of running in winamp as i use it for me cd's and mp3's etc bjocque (1064)
889193 2010-05-30 06:53:00 Bear it mind it seems designed for TV tuner cards with FM radios inbuilt so it may not work in your case but still it's worth a try I guess. Agent_24 (57)
