| 1106099 | 2010-06-02 08:36:00 | Acer Aspire One, have an external hard drive plugged in so got the XP disk in there all goodly. It was gettin to windows loadin screen and just going forever, then I did a fix mbr and now its starting the loading screen then bluescreening. Firstly I need to be able to read the bluescreen, bios has no option to disable autorestart and obviously can't boot to windows (not even in safe mode) Any ideas? I'm stumped. I am allowed to do a reinstall on it (mrs brother gave me the go ahead for that) but he has no record of the key and from what I've googled its a fair bit of effort to retrieve it. But I'm capable of doing that so if worse comes to worse I will. Any ideas on how to disable auto restart though? I was hoping there is a service I can disable but havent found anything to suggest that yet, And don't currently have a desktop handy to pull hard drive out and edit registry to disable it. Cheers in advance |

| 1106100 | 2010-06-02 09:03:00 | You have to disable auto restart in windows not the BIOS. Press F8 and select disable auto restart or something like that then reboot. Then see what the BSOD says | Speedy Gonzales (78) | ||

Try this neat little program for the key: System Information for Windows ( . gtopala . com/siw-download . html" target="_blank">www . gtopala . com) Download, click on "Licenses" . Should be there for you . Edit: how's the site? |
