1106124 2010-06-02 07:21:00 Having intermittent Word crashes, sometimes when copying a web pg to word (Control C). Usually I just restart word and its fine till a couple of weeks later.

Error messages:Can’t remember first part, apart from Word is shutting down

Next msg: " Program requires missing Windows component
This program requires a missing flash.ocx, which
is no longer included in this version of windows
Check for solution online"

Then below comes up
"Download the latest version of Adobe Flash Player
The program you were trying to install or use requires the latest version of Adobe Flash Player.
To solve this problem, uninstall and then reinstall Adobe Flash Player by following these steps in the order given:"

Can’t find what my version is on Computer, but check thru Adobe web says I have WIN 10,0,32,18, and the latest is 10.0.45.2. (kb2.adobe.com)

It also talks about resolving a mismatch between reported version and a later installed version
“To display the correct version number for the installed and active Flash Player, follow these steps.” (but I don’t understand this).

So my question is, is my version really the problem and do I have to do as it says, uninstall then reinstall the new version. Isnt there just some update option. (The movie thin runs fine on screen) Ta

1106127 2010-06-03 05:15:00 Hmm.. odd problem. I assume you are referring to Word 2007.

Try running this (download.macromedia.com), then reboot, go here (get.adobe.com) and try to install the latest version.

1106128 2010-06-03 05:16:00 Do you mean word 2007 ?? There is no Word 7 ?

Have you tried completely uninstalling Flash and reinstalling it again ?

1106129 2010-06-03 05:29:00 Not a good start, sorry guys, yes Word 2007.
Just confused as to why out of all the things I have open its always Word that crashes with that error msg, not I/E or photogallery.
No I havent tried reinstalling, as everything seems to work, the FP movie, all web pgs eg, (NASA). Just Word that isnt using Flash player (to me isn't using).
I wondered if it was something to do with the mismatch versions Adobe site was talking about.

1106130 2010-06-03 05:31:00 Unfortunately I have a few I/E pgs open, so will take me a little while to check what I want on then before I close them all. Obviously that problem doesn't exist for word since it closed itself. ktee (5538)
1106131 2010-06-03 09:11:00 Just before I uninstall
under Windows/System32/Macromed/Flash
Theres 2 ocx files, could that be the problem?? Could I just delete one

Flash.ocx 4/9/2003
Flash10c.ocx 18/7/2009
FlashUtil10c 18/7/2009
GetFlash 4/9/2003
GetFlash.exe.manifest 4/9/2003
install 16/9/2009
uninstall_activeX 16/9/2009

1106132 2010-06-03 10:17:00 Just reading before about a similar problem someone was having, but it was to do with power Point.

What they did to fix it -- their file was Flash10a.ocx was renamed to Flash.ocx

Since you already have one called that - Copy the Flash10c.ocx to another place for safe keeping ( say the desktop) Cut the current Flash.ocx out and paste it on the desktop, rename the newer Flash10c.ocx to Flash.ocx

See if it fixes the problem. If not then put things back the way they were.

1106133 2010-06-03 11:11:00 What the best way to copy the Flash10c.ocx to desk top.
And "cut the current Flash.ocx out and paste it on the desktop" can I just drag it to desktop file?
Should I do anything about the "FlashUtil10c 18/7/2009".

Problem is it doesnt happen all the time. Today after it happened once it has continued. Usually after I reboot, its a couple of weeks till it occurs again.
So tomorrow after I try what u said them I'll reboot to give it all a clear start.

Thanks in advance
