1107614 2010-06-07 05:02:00 I'm after a 16-24 port Gigabit switch for LAN's. I don't really need any management features, although link aggregation would be nice.
The main feature I need is fast and reliable Gigabit switching (I've heard the cheaper ones like TP-Link fall over under load)

I have a budget topping out at about $600 although cheaper would be nice.

1107617 2010-06-07 07:05:00 HP ProCurve - we've got several at work (24-port unmanaged) - they're silent and have been rock solid. I don't have the model numbers with me but can check tomorrow if you want. They aren't cheap though... somebody (208)
1107618 2010-06-07 07:11:00 I found the HP ProCurve Switch 1400 on paradigm PC's for $542, is this the one your using? Also noticed that for $50 more they have a managed version. pantera989 (14533)

That model number sounds familiar and the photo looks about right (1400-24G) - I can double check for you tomorrow if you want.

Pricespy doesn't just list the cheapest

You said your budget was $600. Pricespy is a good start to find what you can get for that price or less.

See what kind of brands\features you can get and then look at some reviews.

I know it's not a personal recommendation but I figured might be a start
