| 1107597 | 2010-06-07 04:52:00 | If you're looking to add an lpt port to a setup, try a usb-lpt converter. If you're asking as to whether or not windows 7 supports them, I don't doubt that it does. It can be installed on pc's that have similar specs to XP, and as such would use LPT ports, so supporting it is pretty much a requirement right there. |

| 1107599 | 2010-06-07 05:42:00 | The gaming and high end boards usually don't, The cheap ones or standard ones often do. Some support them but only with a header on the board and you must buy a port to plug into it. You can buy USB to Parallel\Serial adapters (although these aren't very good as they don't support all the functions, thus making them often useless for things like EEPROM programmers) The other alternative is to buy a Parallel\Serial port card, if you want a "proper" port. You can even get PCI-E ones if you look hard enough, eBay is a better source than local shops. |

| 1107600 | 2010-06-07 05:51:00 | Thanks all, I checked my motherboard manual and cannot find it, thou a COM is provided. I just wanted to get an idea on my audience. I have 2 printers to sell, they have been sitting here doing nothing for 6-7yrs. Should of sold it earlier. A HP 6L laser and a Canon BJC80 portable color bubblejet. Prob get $10 for it lol, but it just sitting here doing nothing despite the sentimental value. They were my study printers, portable one was mine when I studied away from home with my 2nd hand laptop and bro had the big one at home. The good old 200Mhz PC has been given to eDay, thou the CRT we are still using with a older computer :thumbs: |
